Can’t say enough about the AMAZING FOOD!! A friend and I had four dishes and two appetizers… and literally finished everything!! Try the Warsugai (of course), kampong shrimp, wontons and crab rangoons. Love how they are reminiscent of old school dishes I grew up on but has a modern twist and its own unique flavors. And so far I’ve only talked about the food… so consider the service, the drinks and decor extra bonuses!! I took some to go and I’m coming back with the whole fam!!!

We popped in here a few weeks ago before the Portland lights bike event. Man we had fun— we wished we had more time for a full meal. This place just opened up and the food and atmosphere are great. It was one of their first nights so we got to chat with the owner quite a bit who told us all about the vision of the restaurant. Can’t wait to come back! The appetizer and drinks we got were delicious.

I am not good at taking the picture but here it is! We went to Warsugai last Sunday in November and it was fantastic ! We are pretty picky on Asian cuisine. The food and the service were out of this world! We liked everything but if I need to choose, I highly recommend shitaki mushroom and bok choy (my favorite) and kampong shrimp (my partner favorite). Kampong shrimp batter was really unique that I never tasted before. It was thin batter with right crispiness and sauce. All dishes were generous portion especially crab noodles has a lot of crab meat! Will definitely go again for the date night or have some drinks

My dining partner wasn't thrilled by the food, but I thought this place was good. The honey garlic pepper shrimp was fantastic. Excellent portions. The almond chicken lacked flavor but we fixed it with some leftover sauce from our chicken and black truffle wontons appetizer. Service was fantastic as well as the atmosphere.

I loved the atmosphere and unique food! The sunlight was streaming in from the west facing windows making the restaurant vibrant. We tried their tasting menu which had a great selection from their menu! My favorites were the Kampong Shrimp that was seasoned in wildflower honey and the sizzling ribeye bulgogi with carmelized sweet onions. The cabbage and cauliflower dishes were wonderful and different preparations! My Chungking Express cocktail was a spicy, unique and beautiful! I appreciate creative food and cocktail menus. We will definitely return.

Lovely atmosphere, good service, food arrived as it was ready so dining family style with a group. Potstickers and wontons appetizers we all enjoyed. The Crispy potato's were the favorite dish. I wouldn't order again: the Crab Rangoon or the Almond Fried Chicken. Bulgogi Beef was good. Beverages, The Namesake was our favorite drink. Photos show partially consumed plates.

Price: $$$$ I recently had the pleasure of dining at Warsugai Chinese Restaurant, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The almond chicken was a true standout, perfectly blending flavors and textures. The crab rangoons exceeded expectations with real crab, making them a must-try for seafood enthusiasts. The cabbage and sausage dish showcased a commendable combination of freshness and savory goodness. The overall culinary journey left a positive impression, earning Warsugai a solid 4 out of 5 stars. While the flavors were on point and the dishes well-executed, there is always room for improvement. Perhaps a touch of refinement in certain areas could elevate the dining experience further. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Warsugai for those seeking a satisfying Chinese dining experience with a menu that boasts both traditional and inventive dishes. I look forward to returning to Warsugai for another round of culinary exploration and flavorful discoveries.
